Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Nodebook ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Nodebook application (web, Android, iOS) and related services. By using Nodebook, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Account data — email address and user ID when you register or sign in via Google.
- App content — your mind map nodes, project names, tags, and settings, stored in the cloud when you choose to sync.
- Documents — PDF, EPUB and TXT files you import are stored locally on your device only. They are never uploaded to our servers.
- Bug reports and contact messages — name, email address, and message content you voluntarily submit via in-app forms.
- Technical data — platform type (Android / Web) included with bug reports for diagnostic purposes.
We do not collect location data, contacts, camera or microphone access, advertising identifiers, or any other sensitive personal data.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you and provide access to your account.
- To sync your mind map data across devices (only when you are logged in and trigger a sync).
- To respond to bug reports and support inquiries.
- To improve the reliability and functionality of the app.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sell it to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
Nodebook uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase (Authentication & Firestore) — used for account management and cloud data storage. Firebase Privacy Policy.
- Google Sign-In — optional authentication method. Google Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage and Security
Your cloud data is stored in Google Firestore, hosted in Google's infrastructure. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. We apply reasonable technical measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure.
Documents you import (PDF, EPUB, TXT) are stored exclusively on your device and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
5. Data Retention
Your account and cloud data are retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your data at any time using the export and delete features in the app, or by contacting us directly. Bug report submissions are retained for up to 12 months for diagnostic purposes.
